I’m Susan Constantine, CEO of eFocus AI. For the last 14 years, I’ve been researching and studying human behavior. I took intensive training in reading human emotions through facial expressions, investigative and interrogation interviewing training, deception detection training, and statement analysis. Today, I’m one of a few in an elite group of experts.
I saw first-hand how being able to read subtle facial and body cues can help determine subconscious emotion, and therefore, decision making. I became the lead behavior expert in numerous criminal cases because of the many successes I’ve had in weeding out dangerous and biased jurors. I’ve trained others in this work too, but training isn’t enough when a person’s future sits in the hands of 12 jurors.
Even today, I watch as lawyers still use antiquated focus group methods during mock juries, much like the research and marketing industry does today. It scares me, and it should scare you. Although questionnaires and surveys can be helpful, the psychological community will tell you self-reporting is not a reliable source of gathering information. It is prone to bias and self-deception.
Most people don’t know enough about their own emotions to articulate them accurately. They don’t always know why they make the decisions they do. People make decisions on a sub-conscious level. The self-reporting surveys and focus groups don’t work for a jury and it doesn’t work in marketing. While you may not have someone’s life on the line, you do have hundreds of thousands of dollars, maybe even millions, at stake – as well as your time and reputation.
For me and for you, there’s just too much at stake for faulty science.
That’s why I created both eFocus AI, and The Jury Lab - sister companies. There’s no denying the science behind emotion in decision making. Even a simple Google search with bring back countless relevant studies and articles on the subject. But how with no real training in reading emotions, do you get it right?
I know it’s hard to admit that all this time you might have been doing it wrong, but if your marketing is not evoking an emotional response from your target audience, you are making it extremely difficult for your prospective customers to purchase from you. That’s right, your own marketing is potentially causing prospects to turn away from you and your brand.
Luckily, the world is constantly evolving and so is technology. Because there’s only one of me, and it’s just not humanly possible to watch, analyze and then process all that information in just seconds and be accurate every time, I’ve created software that does the heavy lifting for us.
With eFocus AI, you will have the ability to know exactly what a person in your focus group is feeling without them saying a word. Focus groups combined using Emotions AI has substantial benefits. You can read real human emotion in real time in a controlled group setting, and have immediate answers. It’s raw, clean data without bias that can’t be disputed. Big data. Deeper learning. No human error.
